Noel G. Perez

Noel is a PhD student applying theories of persuasion to increase help-seeking behavior among individuals with depression. He is currently conducting his thesis research project, which applies prospect theory to increase help-seeking attitudes, intentions, and behavior among individuals with heightened depressive symptomatology. Specifically, how the role of help-seeking outcome expectations moderates the effectiveness of gain-framed and loss-framed messages. In addition, he is also a master’s of public health student focused on epidemiology and applied biostatistics. He is currently a graduate research assistant on a Department of Defense grant aimed at developing a help-seeking intervention for active service members. He has also been a graduate teaching assistant for research methods. Noel is interested in pursuing a career in academia.
